sweet baby

sweet baby

From time to time I select a portrait to complete. I don't consider myself to be a portrait artist, but I do like to keep that skill going. So, I just finished my latest baby portrait.

Little Rowan was laying in her daddy's arms. Such a sweet little face.

This month I will be attending the Wrightwood Spring Celebration and art vendor show - May 10  Noon till 5

The Claremont PVAA is being featured at the LA Fair and I have several works being shown there.  Since PVAA is running the show, I will be sitting and doing a demo or two on several days this month.

The Artists of the High Desert will be changing out their art works; I will be giving a class on printmaking, and preparing for the grand opening of our gallery on 9th Street in Hesperia.

Lots to do! Keeping busy is good.

The Gallery in Monclair has moved to Clairmont.  Works are being moved and the grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 21.  Join us at 317 First St. in Clairmont!  Things are being reworked and reordered. I have several art pieces and several of my dichroic glass jewelry pieces there as well.

The Gallery in Big Bear- Artisans- Has a full panel of my artwork and loose matted pieces.  I also have jewelry and glasswork there, which is currently selling like hotcakes!  If you visit Big Bear, take a moment to stop in and see all the great art! Artisans is on Pine Knot street.

I keep busy and creating, nothing new there.

This little pug seems to be asking the question.  Well, where's my grub??

I have been working on several things, glass, jewelry, and this cute pug.  I hope you enjoy.

The Covid pandemic knocked my creative energy out of whack.  I hadn't painted since we were quarantined and then retired; which happened now about a full year ago.  I spent a lot of my time working with glass and cleaning areas around the house.  I had previously made several paint pours with my grandchildren and had those panels and canvases set aside for another time.  Well, that time finally has come and my creative processes kicked in and I was able to produce several acrylic pieces.  It felt great to get back to painting.

I posted the work in the Acrylic section of my web pages, but here are a couple examples:

enjoy!  Colleen

Since I retired I have been a little obsessed with glass fusing!  I have created a new collection on my artworks page where I will be displaying pieces I have created.  I will have to work on my photography skills for 3d objects!.  Here are a few of the pieces I created.

I spent the month of July finishing a watercolor a day using a prompt to spark my creativity.  I ended with 31 different images, some better than others.  But, it kept me fresh in using watercolor, drawing skills, and kept me painting.  Here are just a few of the images.

I am looking to complete another challenge this month.  I am still looking for the perfect one! but I am already into the month of August, so I guess I have some catching up to do!

This is my newest reduction print. It is about 11 x 18, I haven't really measured it yet.  After finishing 10 reductions, I then printed on watercolors, same image.  Then finally I removed the background and I will be printing those tomorrow.  I will add some more watercolors or acrylic inks to them.  I will have to post those results as well.  It was a rather intense process, since I had to hand register the paper and really work to get the ink smoothly transferred.

A new paint chip with gummy bears in the background.  Students in my art classes are currently working on acrylic painting and are producing a lot of wasted paint, so I have been able to put together a few new pieces.
